My runner abs are disappointing me…?

I just lost 5 pounds in the past month and a quarter from exercising more and eating healthier. Now track started (last week) and I’ve switched from my own exercise (runs, yoga, pilates) to just track stuff (running, core + upper body training.) My abs have been looking good up until recently, but since track started, my abs have started to kind of puff out. It’s muscle, but instead of lying flat like I’d like it to, it’s puffy. I’ve also started to see the definition of a six-pack and I don’t like it because it doesn’t seem very feminine. How do I get this nice, flat tone: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/onlineProductDisplay.vs?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=CL-232982&page=1&cgname=OSSWMTWYZZZ&rfnbr=6097
as opposed to bulky six-pack? I already have a low body fat percentage for a girl.

Just keep running. Try leg lifters.

don’t work out too much, and eat healthy. this will look naturally thin.

I honestly think that it depends on your body type. If you are naturally muscular, then that is what you are going to get by losing all that body weight.

well that girl isnt very muscular.. try doing side sit ups

Don’t worry so much if you have low body fat already. you cant have bulky abs, bulk refers to somone who has muscle with too much bodyfat. Which by your admission you are not. One thing you can try if you are really bothered by it is to practice vacuums which is where you get on all fours and suck your stomach in as far as you can and hold it for sets this will train your abs to hold themselves in. check out some examples.

well, you probably know that when you run, you burn fat from over your abs. When you do core workouts, you are strengthening your abs. I do track, and If you want to have a visible 6 pack, you do what they tell you. For toned lifting (arms) you lift light weight repeditively. For bulky muscle you lift heavy weights few times.

I suggest you do a lot of repeditive excercises like crunches, and not so much of things like leg lifts or full sit ups.
